Eh, rarely. I don't have a TV and theaters are absurdly expensive so I never go. Then when the movie is out of theaters, it's either not on Netflix or it is but I've forgotten it by then. Oh well.

As an aside, if you haven’t seen Downfall (the film all those Hitler parodies comes from ) you really should. The over-arching goal of the filmmakers was to remind people that Hitler (and the Nazis) were not these abstract, inhuman monsters. They were people. People who were deeply flawed, hateful, and manipulative. Hopefully as a reminder that these kinds of people still exist and are as manipulative as ever.

My lineage is German on both sides. My family was here well before the war (my dad actually remembers it as a kid), but it horrifies me that some of my distant relatives likely there were taken in by this man and his loyalists and were enthusiastic supporte rs , and then failed to rise up against him (and genocide) once his true intentions became clear. It’s very scary to see how a nation can be manipulated (seemingly so easily), and I hate witnessing fellow Americans continuing to support Trump, despite his divisive rhetoric and actions, because his administration is good for their bottom line or because he gave them the Supreme Court they desired. That said, I don’t like the comparisons between Trump and Hitler, because it sells short Hitler’s evil and inflates Trump’s, but the tactics he’s used to come to power are shockingly similar, and there’s terrible danger in his characterizing of Hispanic immigrants as “less than”...

This is why I don’t trust groups of more than 5 people . Too easily manipulated or incited by a charismatic leader/demagogue to engage in mob violence. People put too much trust in other people, especially charismatic ones
